Tarzana Treatment Centers, Inc. (TTC) Works with Santa Ynez Tribal Health Clinic to Provide Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment and Recovery Services

At the beginning of December 2020, TTC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Santa Ynez Tribal Health Clinic (SYTHC). As an intention of an ongoing collaboration between the two organizations, the goal is to provide quality SUD and alcoholism recovery services for Native American adult women and men.

Recovery Leads to the Sunrise of New Possibilities
After the dark night of addiction, sobriety feels like the sun rising.

Given TTC’s history of delivering compassionate and professional healthcare to underserviced populations, it makes perfect sense to form this positive alliance and work with the Santa Ynez Tribal Health Clinic.

A Positive Alliance with Santa Ynez Tribal Health Clinic

Located in Santa Ynez, within Santa Barbara County, on the reservation of the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians; a federally recognized tribe, the Santa Ynez Tribal Health Clinic offers an expansive array of medical services. Although primarily working with the Native American population on the reservation, SYTHC welcomes all members of the greater Santa Ynez Valley and Santa Barbara County communities.

Established in 1974 by Rosa Pace, an obstetric nurse who expanded healthcare access for the tribe, SYTHC has grown from an initial two-bedroom trailer with no running water to a state-of-the-art healthcare facility that opened in 2002.

Tarzana Treatment Centers Opens the Door to Recovery
Recovery Opens the Door to a Better Life

Like clinics across the nation, however, a challenge for SYTHC is the explosion in alcohol abuse and substance use disorder over the past decade. Moreover, that difficult problem only worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic. Although SYTHC has state-of-the-art facilities and a talented staff, they lacked alcohol and drug treatment residential beds to provide the extended treatment needed to initiate the process of long-term recovery. Looking for support to help tribal members in need, the synergistic combination of Santa Ynez Tribal Health Clinic with TTC makes perfect sense.

Like Tarzana Treatment Centers, Inc., SYTHC is a paramount example of how nonprofit ventures positively impacts the lives of people in need. The teaming up of two such respected nonprofit organizations will help many in the Native American community access the alcohol and drug treatment services they need and embark on the path of early and long-term recovery.
