Youth And Family Services

Youth and Family Services are a priority for Tarzana Treatment Centers (TTC). Given this focus, TTC has spent decades crafting programs to help young people succeed in life. Located in San Fernando Valleyand Antelope Valley, the Youth and Family Services program provides an entire spectrum of integrated healthcare.

The goal of Youth and Family Services is to support youth’s wellbeing, helping youth and families in crisis deal with life challenges more effectively. Thus, the TTC team helps young people reach their full potential. Hence, TTC’s integrated programs maximize recovery, providing youth with the knowledge and skills to be better in life and thrive in the future.

Accredited by The Joint Commission, TTC offers a full continuum of Youth and Family Services, including prevention-education, youth development, family and youth support, substance use disorder (SUD), mental health (MH), and primary medical care. TTC’s Youth Programs encourage family involvement, including access to education and support services for parents and guardians.

Youth and Family Services Philosophy

It is crucial to emphasize that the TTC Youth program is voluntary. So, each young person entering treatment must be willing to participate. Key to the process, the clinical team believes in helping youth develop their strengths. Due to this, young people in the program learn how to manage their day-to-day lives and take responsibility for their actions. Indeed, they come to understand the logical consequences of their behaviors.

In summary, our comprehensive program for youth focuses on:

  • Psychological Challenges
  • Failure to Launch
  • Mood Disorders
  • Anxiety Issues
  • Depression
  • Childhood Trauma.
  • Drug Misuse
  • Poor Academic Performance
  • The Pressures of Adolescence

Moreover, we support our youth by offering early interventions. Ultimately, the goal is to prevent long-term negative consequences of these behavioral issues.

Helping Youth to Succeed and Thrive

At the heart of the Youth and Family Services Program, we help youth succeed and thrive regardless of their issues. Hence, we treat youth (ages 8 to 17), young adults (ages 18 to 23), and their families.

The Youth and Family Services programs are easily accessible and convenient, particularly after school, between the hours of 3:30 pm and 8:30 pm. Moreover, TTC’s Youth Programs conduct intakes/admissions Monday through Friday and on Saturday via appointment.

TTC operates a youth SUD residential treatment program (ages 12 to 17) located in the Antelope Valley. As part of residential treatment, the program uses a level system. Thus, each young person’s advancement in the program is based on their input and willingness.

Family Support and Youth Services at TTC

Finally, as part of the TTC integrated healthcare approach, we believe strongly in family involvement in the Youth and Family Services Program. Thus, as part of our integrated youth services, families take part in efforts to improve healthy boundaries. Also, our clinical staff provides therapeutic support. TTC strengthens parental leadership by highlighting the underlying causes of dysfunctional family interactions.

Moreover, youth treatment services require the participation of a parent or guardian in weekly family sessions. Based on the biopsychosocial model, these services are offered in person or through telehealth. TTC provides the following resources for parents, guardians, and their kids:

Intriguing for both parents and youth, the Youth Advisory Board (YAB) enhances TTC’s various youth services programs by engaging youth in leadership training that directly impacts the programs and services at TTC. In fact, the YAB is a body of young people who are actively engaged in developing, designing, and evaluating programs and services delivered to youth in Los Angeles County.

Moreover, young people with firsthand experience with TTC’s SUD, Mental Health, community health education, support groups, and outreach are encouraged to join the YAB. Therefore, as part of YAB, youth help to ensure that the services intended to serve them are informed by peer input and recommendations.

Overall, the Youth and Family Services Program leads to long-term recovery. Indeed, we guide young people on a path to living productive and successful lives.
