Tarzana Treatment Centers Emphasizes Equity and Innovation on World AIDS Day

In 2022, World AIDS Day is all about equity and innovation. Following the example set by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Tarzana Treatment Centers (TTC) focuses on equity in delivering services through practical action. Thus, TTC understands the importance of helping underserved communities where HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) testing and treatment are lacking.

Taking Positive Action on World AIDS Day 2022 to Help People with HIV

Observed annually on December 1st since 1988, World AIDS Day began to memorialize and remember those lost due to AIDS-related illnesses. Moreover, it allows governments and nonprofit organizations like TTC to honor and reach out to the 38 million individuals (about twice the population of New York state) living with HIV around the world. In the United States alone, more than 1.2 million Americans are living with the virus.

World AIDS Day Underscores the Priority of Treating HIV

Given the recent understandable focus on COVID-19, people living with HIV may feel left out of the national conversation. However, the U.S. government and TTC want these people to know they are a priority. Indeed, the U.S. government’s theme for World AIDS Day 2022 is Putting Ourselves to the Test: Achieving Equity to End HIV. Like SAMHSA, TTC wants to continue to reach out to underserved communities disproportionately affected by HIV.

At TTC, HIV Services remain an ongoing priority. On our website, we express, “Tarzana Treatment Centers provides HIV / AIDS services for both HIV-infected and HIV-affected clients with vital health education, nutritional consulting, and treatment strategies for an improved and extended quality of life. Our goal is to help our clients get back to living the fullest life they can.”
