Grant Writer
This is a full time position. The Grant Writer reports to the Director of Program Development and is responsible for lead writing private and public grant applications. Position is responsible for researching funding sources, developing concept papers, writing letters of inquiry, and lead writing all narrative sections of funding applications. Succesful candidates will have a demonstrated history of lead writing grant applications to SAMHSA, HRSA, CDC, OAPP, ADPA or other comparable public funding agency within the last 6 month period. Candidate will have excellent writing skills, be familiar with core elements of successful grant writing, and accustomed to working on several grant application deadlines. Proficiency in MS Office Product (MS Word, Outlook, Excel) a must. Persons with a Masters level degree in a health related field preferred and minimum of two years experience writing grants for a healthcare organization (substance abuse, mental health, HIV/AIDS, primary care, etc.). This full-time health educator position involves following a rigorous scope of work established by the Los Angeles Department of Public Health Tobacco Control Prevention Program. The Health Educator will promote free or low cost smoking cessation services to various businesses within the San Fernando Valley. Duties include outreach, recruitment, public speaking to diverse groups, development of culturally accepted resources, research on current tobacco issues, attending tobacco control advocacy group meetings, participating in health fairs, and designing community surveys.
