2010 World AIDS Day Celebration

by James Heller 19. November 2010 12:29

Tarzana Treatment Centers in Los Angeles will participate in the 2010 World AIDS Day by holding a celebration at our central location in Tarzana, as we have for many years.  The theme for 2010 is Universal Access and Human Rights.  Much of the world’s HIV infected population lacks treatment because they don’t have access to it or suffer human rights violations.  Increased public awareness of these issues helps to battle the global HIV and AIDS epidemic, so we encourage all to attend.

Here are the details:

Date:        December 1, 2010
Time:        10:00am – 12:00pm
Location:   18646 Oxnard St.
                Tarzana, CA  91356
                Map

Tarzana Treatment Centers in Los Angeles provides a full array of health care services including adult and youth alcohol and drug treatment.  We specialize in treatment for mental health and substance use disorders, and have two primary medical care clinics in the San Fernando Valley and Antelope Valley.  If you or a loved one needs help with alcohol dependence, drug addiction, or co-occurring mental health disorders, please call us now at 888-777-8565 or contact us here.

Get Involved With the Alumni Association at Tarzana Treatment Centers

by James Heller 16. July 2009 07:16
We can always use alumni assistance with events that help current patients to complete treatment. Stay connected with Tarzana Treatment Centers through the Alumni Association meetings, groups and activities.

Participation in alumni activities is a way for you to enhance your recovery through service, while feeling a sense of unity with others.  You need to give your time to those new in recovery in order to keep yours.  And fellowship with others in alcohol and drug treatment, and new alumni, lets you feel “a part of” so you can share your experience, strength and hope.

Any time is a good time to get involved with the Alumni Association.  And it is especially helpful to you when times are tough.  There are days in recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction that seem endless, and depression can set in.  Being with others in treatment can help you get out of your head, and you feel better for being of service to others.

We have weekly meetings on Thursdays at 6:30 pm and have Alumni/AWARE activities at least once a month.  Come and join us for continuing recovery and fun while being an example to the Family.

If you would like more information on the Tarzana Treatment Centers Alumni Association and our activities, please call our Alumni Coordinator, John O. Whitaker, Jr. CATC, at 818-996-1051 x 2066.  Or you can e-mail jwhitaker@tarzanatc.org.
