At some point, every alcoholic and opiate ( heroin, pain killers) addict has a desire to quit drinking or using drugs. Most of them don’t know how to get help or that they can get addiction treatment at low or no cost, leading to a feeling of hopelessness. If that desire to quit passes without getting help, they can wind up in a downward spiral and eventually lose everything. The addiction can take a strong hold on them.
