Medical Detoxification

Click here to read details of our alcohol and drug detox process.

Chemical dependency is a persistent, advancing disease that invades and disturbs all areas of a person’s life and affects more that 10 million Americans from every walk of life.

Our inpatient setting is designed for teens and adults to undergo a safe detoxification in a positive and comfortable setting. Our Medical Director, Duane Carmalt, MD, has over 20 years experience in treating addiction. Patients receive alcohol and drug treatment and guidance from highly trained staff of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, drug and alcohol counselors, dietitians, and recreation therapists. The staff assesses both the medical and emotional needs of each individual, and medical, psychiatric, and psychological services are provided, as necessary. Medical and emotional stabilization are key components of this program, along with making concrete plans for continued treatment and recovery with the aid of case managers and program staff.

Patients are treated in our Alcohol and Drug Detox facilities for a variety of substance abuse addictions, including: alcohol, cocaine, crack, ecstacy, marijuana, inhalants, methamphetamines, opiates, stimulants, narcotics, hypnotics, muscle relaxers, and hallucinogens, as well as co-occurring mental issues, chemical dependencies and other harmful drugs.
Patients receive education on addiction and recovery so that they can better understand the process they are undergoing and make plans for continued treatment. The focus is on early recovery, identifying relapse triggers, and learning strategies to cope with these triggers. All patients, teens and adults, are introduced to the 12-Step principles and how to integrate self-help programs into their recovery efforts. We recognize addiction as a family disease and encourage the entire family to participate in treatment whenever possible.
